E-commerce - is it for you?

Many people think that embracing e-commerce is a major adventure, and in the event it may be so.  But it doesn't have to be that way.

There are many ways that you can approach e-commerce and for many a 'toe in the water' approach may well be the best way forward.  This way you are not making a commitment to a full-on system will all that entails.

Indeed, the first thing we would do with you is to discuss the various e-commerce options including whether it is, in fact, right for you at all.

Whilst the idea might initially seem appealing, trading to the wider world and all that, there are many obstacles along the way not least of which is whether your particular products are suited to selling over the Internet.

You will need to consider things like; packing and transportation costs, do you restrict activity to a region such as the UK or Europe, EU rules on distance selling and how do you handle payments.  Do allow online transactions and if so, how do you collect the money?  Do you handle it yourself or do you have a third party collect the money on your behalf and inform you when the transaction has been successful?

All the options, things for and against, will be presented to you in a clear and understandable way so that you feel able to answer the question, e-commerce - is it right for me?
